Yes, absolutely. Internet connectivity is only needed once during initial setup to activate your device license key. Once activated, the application operates 100% offline on your local machine with zero cloud dependencies, tracking, or required internet access.

The only other time you might connect online is if you choose to download album cover artwork using our built-in Discogs integration. That artwork downloading feature can be easily turned on or off at any time directly in the app's settings, keeping your collection data completely private, secure, and fully functional on your desktop or laptop without requiring an internet connection.

Discogs is a fantastic public marketplace, but it is a cloud platform. That means you are at the mercy of their server downtime, changing privacy policies, fee hikes, and internet connectivity. If you're out digging in a basement record vault with zero cellular service, your Discogs collection is out of reach.

The Matrix Vault is an ironclad, 100% offline sanctuary. It is a localized desktop application supporting vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and tapes. Your data, grading notes, purchase values, and high-res album art are saved locally to your own hardware in dedicated SQLite databases (`records.db` and `artwork.db`). No cloud, no tracking, no subscription paywalls, and lightning-fast sorting speeds. You own your music; it's time you owned your data.

Spreadsheets are great for flat text, but they quickly fall apart under the heavy lifting of serious physical media archiving. The Matrix Vault transforms a tedious data-entry chore into a fluid, responsive experience:

• Smart Physical Space Management: Spreadsheets can't tell you where a record physically sits. The Matrix Vault features a dynamic layout engine. If you add a double gatefold LP to your storage layout, the app automatically calculates that it takes up two physical slots and shifts the rest of your physical index perfectly across shelves or crates.
• Zero Double-Entry: Moving from a spreadsheet is effortless. You can import your existing `.csv` or Discogs export straight into The Matrix Vault in seconds. And if you ever want to take your data back to a spreadsheet, you can export to a clean `.csv` with a single click.

The Matrix Vault is a professional-grade desktop archivist tool for record enthusiasts, purists, and estate catalogers. It allows you to:

Your purchase comes with a full lifetime license, meaning the version you buy will continue to work on Windows 10 & 11 indefinitely. To keep the software moving forward, all updates are completely free of charge for the 1st full year from your date of purchase.

After your first year, future updates are entirely optional. Your app will keep running perfectly without them, but if you choose to upgrade to the latest version, updates will be available for a small coding maintenance fee (around the price of a cup of coffee) at the $5 to $10 mark.
